{WPPI & Desert Bridal Shoot :: Las Vegas}

If you follow either of us on Instagram you may have noticed we were playing in Vegas last week, well technically it was work and play! We headed to Las Vegas to attend WPPI (Wedding and Portrait Photography Conference and Expo) for our second year in a row. I don’t think Shane and I have had a kid free vacation well since Rowyn was born almost 2 years ago. We leave her all the time for weddings, shoots and overnight for maybe an anniversary or something but this time we were gone for 5 days and it felt like forever, but it was much needed and we had a great time!

It gave us time away to attending classes taught by leaders in our industry, network and meet other photographers and spend time with good friends. We headed out to Vegas with our good friend Ryan from Cloudless Weddings and once there we met up with our friends Jennifer (from Jennifer Miller Photography) and Nick (from Nick Miller Films). We met Jennifer and Nick last year at WPPI and although we only hung out with them for a few minutes it resulted in a year full of Skype calls and emails that has turned into an awesome friendship. We say all the time they are our twins just across the country. Needless to say we were super excited to hang out with them this year and it was more fun than we could have imagined. We also met up with new friends, another San Diego husband/wife photography duo, Nate and Dana from The Lovers of Love Photography and their friends Holly and David from Your Day Films. The first couple years in our business we had our heads down working like dogs so we didn’t have the time to invest in networking. But now that we’ve been blessed with a growing business and being able to do photography full time we’ve finally had the chance to meet other couples in our photo “bubble” and its so rewarding!

While we were there Jennifer and I had a chance to leave the boys behind for a few hours and take part in a bridal styled shoot in Red Rock Canyon State Park. Red Rock is absolutely amazing and Shane and I are already trying to plot how we can get back there for another shoot!  Here are a couple of my favorite photos from the shoot. ::Lauren
